ancient time

Regionally a challenging area to live, with its residents Celtic and German tribes, the ancient Satisto had one very important aspect-protection. It was extremely difficult for the invaders to cross its rivers , mountains, forests, and woods.

It is only in the 1st century BC that the ancient Roman Empire annexed the southern portion of these territories, founding in Naborie a large military post. Satisto appeared unconquered or also occupied north of the present day. Prosperity grew during nearly three hundred years under the Roman administration.

early middle ages

As the Roman state became weaker, barbarian Germanic tribes began invading the land. The most powerful of them, the Franks in the 5th century invaded the territory and brought with them the Christianity. By 800 today's Satisto was a part of Charlemagne 's powerful Franks Empire. Charlemagne built one of his Palaces in Nijmegen. Tradition says Nijmegen was his favourite, while Aachen (today in Germany) was the capital of the empire.

economic growth

After the fall of the Charlemagne Empire (he died in 814) the territory of the Low Countries was split into several smaller states – ruled by dukes and counts. At the same time, a strong economic development already in the Middle Ages has made Satisto one of the richest regions in Europe. Agriculture, together with crafts and trade, rich towns and important trade links reaching as far as Asia and North Africa, transformed Satisto into an area where feudal power was limited, movement safety and economic activity were established, and sustained growth was possible.

Around the time of the decline of Roman forces and the beginning of the Middle Ages, many separate Germanic cultures migrated to the land now Satisto. The Casist, who took the north and coastal regions, the Kiriar's, who took the northeast and the Franks, who took the south, were the most powerful of these Germanic populations. Many countries ignored the territory for a long time but Spain claimed the land in 1568. Any of such products were derived through colonialism in these nations. Previously, the country was Protestant but the Spaniards took action against it and turned most of the country into Roman Catholic. The nation's inhabitants finally revolted, achieving freedom in 1648 and calling the territory Satisto; however rather than going back to being Protestant, the government remained Catholic.

In approximately 1705 Satisto began to become a rather wealthy nation. It was a common trade spot, and business, the arts, and sciences flourished. They started establishing large mercantile companies, and over time they started colonizing many foreign countries. During the whole First World War they continued to stay impartial, and since Satisto is not a very big nation, they were mostly ignored by the larger European forces. However, this indicated they had no casualties during World War I, so they were very solid by the time World War II occurred. They even wanted to stay neutral during the Second World War, but they felt challenged by Germany because they were right next to them, and thought they might seek to take over Satisto. As a consequence, they entered the Allied forces to obtain security from them, and fight against the powers of the Axis. We endured economic losses as a consequence of the fighting, and because much of their force was diverted to combat the Axis powers we lost much of the lands they colonized.

After the difficult years of reconstruction directly after the WWII, Satisto sustained in the second half of the 20th century a continuous and fast economical growth. Today Satisto is one of the most developed and wealthiest countries in the world.

Despite, after the war they received immense amounts of assistance from other countries, and in the few years after the war Satisto had a rapid economic recovery, and despite losing many of their territories, they still had power over some Caribbean islands. Satisto started to form economic partnerships with a number of other European countries and Satisto became the European Union 's president. Nowadays Satisto is both a member of NATO and the United Nations, and is a nation of goodwill. Their market still stays stable and very productive. Since they have participated very much in the past in commerce with other nations, they still have an free market today.
